ABSTRACT

This project looks into the possibility of incorporating Game Theory into the deployment of honeypots, in hopes of enhancing the effectiveness. The project starts off by exploring the various honeypots (Cowrie, Glastopf, etc.) and Game Theory (Nash Equilibrium, Expected Utility Theory, etc.). Research was then conducted to better familiarise the team with various honeypot tools and gain a deeper understanding of the underlying working of Game Theory. The project then examines and determines which Game Theory is applicable to a honeynet setup before delving into the few which eventually influence the architecture of the demonstration network.
