H.O.S.T. — STATE OF THE INTERNET CYBERSECURITY SURVEY TOOL

Singapore Polytechnic (SP)
Diploma in Infocomm Security Management (DISM)
Final Year Project

Project Completed 2017

ABSTRACT

Vulnerabilities, exploits and malware are discovered and used on the Internet every now and then. To get a sense of how widespread these exploits or malware are, cybersecurity researchers employ various information gathering and survey techniques.

In this project, the team looked into these techniques and developed a platform that allows cybersecurity researchers to use the combination of the best of these techniques — namely, using Honeypots, OSINT, and Scanners (H.O.S.) — to quickly identify the state of cybersecurity of the Internet when a new vulnerabilities, exploits or malware are discovered.
